Future plans and actions are clearly defined in the MRCS strategic plan (2007-2010). Activities are defined under five programme areas: Organizational Development, Health and Care in the Community, Disaster Management, Cooperation and Coordination and Financial Resources Development, with these, the Society is putting her ablest effort to deliver efficient and effective humanitarian services in Myanmar.
Human Resources Recruitments & Equipments Installation
With the support of Federation, 6 staff in Finance Division, 1 Human Resources Officer and 1 Branch Development Officer in DC Unit are recruited at Head Quarter in 2005 and 2006. For those positions, necessary and appropriate equipments were supported to get work done.
Capacity Buildings within MRCS

In May 25 to 27 2006, as a first time Project Planning Process Training held in Grand Plaza Park Royal Hotel in Yangon.
In November 2005, DC Unit arranged the "Project Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop" for 5 days in Yangon and the total participants are 30 from NHQ Staff. From this workshop, participants reviewed their respective projects and defined more realistic indicators for respective projects; the participants revised the upcoming activities which are based on those indicators. And the participants prepared Monitoring & Evaluation Projects for their respective jobs.
From February 20th to 25th 2006, "Actual Monitoring Training Exercise" for Community Health Development Project in Singu Township, Mandalay Division, was arranged by DC Unit. The monitoring field trip is based on an experiential-learning model based on a hands-on approach. The objective of the monitoring field trip is to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the workshop in November 2005 in a practical setting. There were 16 participants joined this field trip who have already.
In May 2006 Evaluation & Reporting Workshop was conducted from 22nd May to 26th at Myanmar Red Cross Society (HQ) Training Room.
For continuing Education for NHQ staff, 1 Program Coordinator from Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Response Division attended the "Monitoring & Evaluation" Training in August 2006 at CBI. And 1 Branch Coordinator attended the "Staff Management" Training at CBI in October.
Dissemination of five-year Strategic Plan
Five-year Strategic Plan of MRCS was printed, distributed and disseminated in 2006 which circulation will be a little bit behind as schedule. So all the staff and volunteers are well known about the strategic plan and it will lead the clear their Red Cross movements.
Set-up a NHQ Staff Database
There is no solid Staff Database System in NHQ. After recruiting Human Resources Officer, the NHQ Staff Database System is well defined. From that Database, can extract the staff personal information and generate tailor made forms and reports upon the request based on the existing data.
8th SEA OD Forum
The 8th SEA OD Forum hold in Yangon from 13th to 15th June 2006. 8 National Societies OD representatives attended it and namely Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society, Cambodia Red Cross Society, Lao Red Cross Society, Myanmar Red Cross Society, Philippine National Red Cross, Singapore Red Cross, Thai Red Cross and Vietnam Red Cross. As outputs of the Forum, "Priority OD interventions from NS Strategic Plan"; "National Society Strategic Plan and Aligning with the FOF" and "Commitment of Action of National Society" were submitted by the 8 National Societies.
Branch Development
As part of the capacity building project, MRCS with aim to achieve its branches are supported to take a leadership role in implementing humanitarian activities – addressing the needs of the local communities, is implementing branch development activities with following expected results: Capacity of the MRCS’s Branches (all 17 States and Divisions and selected Townships) is improved and they are providing increasing assistance to the most vulnerable; Capacity of the MRCS NHQ is improved to provide direction and support its Branches.
Youth and Volunteer Development

MRCS is strengthening ongoing Volunteer and Youth development activities in order to deliver community based services efficiently and effectively to meet needs of the most vulnerable in Myanmar.
