Initaited blood donation activities in 1961 and has been implementing regular blood donor activities since. Objective is to improve the amount of safe blood available in Myanmar through increased recruitment and retention of voluntary non-remunelated blood donors. Components of the program are advocacy and public awareness, donor recruitment and education, donor motivation and retention and social mobilisation (210) RCVs were trained as blood recruiters in Yangon and Mandalay.
